What is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is basically any dental work that works to improve the appearance of your teeth and smile. Our biggest and most popular cosmetic dentistry service is Invisalign, which we’ll talk about in a moment. Cosmetic dentistry itself extends to services such as teeth cleaning and whitening, implants, and crowns and bridges.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign works to straighten your teeth in the same way that traditional, metal braces do. However, Invisalign uses clear, plastic aligners rather than bulky metal. It means your Invisalign is virtually invisible and very hard to recognise or notice.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign aligners look and feel similar to plastic mouth guards used for sport. However, these are much thinner and are custom-made to the shape of your teeth and your jaw — so they’ll fit snugly over your teeth. The aligners work by gradually moving your teeth into a straighter position. These aligners will need to be changed every two to three weeks. When you change your aligners, they’ll have built slightly closer to the correct, straight positioning for your teeth.
Your invisalign dentist will offer you several sets at a time, so you don’t need to visit us quite as often.
How much does Invisalign cost?
Invisalign costs a similar amount to braces and similar to braces, the cost will depend on the complexity of your case (and teeth), how long the treatment takes, and your provider. As your provider, we do work to keep costs as affordable as we can, where we can. An average ballpark cost for Invisalign is somewhere between $6,000 and $9,000
What are the benefits of Invisalign?
Invisible
The clear, medical-grade, plastic that Invisalign aligners are made from makes them virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.
Removable
Invisalign aligners are removable so you can take them out for meals or for important engagements, like meetings or dates. It makes brushing your teeth easier too.
Effective
In most cases, Invisalign aligners are just as effective as traditional metal braces. They’re much more comfortable to wear than conventional braces as well.
Less Restrictive
Invisalign aligners will be much less restrictive than traditional braces, both physically, and in what you can eat. Because they’re removable, you can eat whatever you like while your teeth are being treated, without the worry of food getting stuck.
