Invisalign Gold Coast

We’re Invisalign Gold Coast dentists. Looking to straighten and improve the appearance of your teeth? Our Gold Coast dentists can help you achieve your ideal set of teeth using Invisalign’s clear aligners.

Invisalign Gold Coast Dentists

Invisalign is one of the most popular advancements in cosmetic dentistry at the moment. It’s a more attractive alternative to traditional braces that uses clear, removable aligners rather than permanent, metal braces, as orthodontists traditionally have used. These make straightening your teeth far more accessible for the self conscious teenager or the adult professional.

What Invisalign Is & How It Works

Invisalign is a fitted, clear, flexible plastic aligner that works to straighten and align your teeth gradually. These work very similarly to traditional braces, but are a less bulky, more attractive solution. The clear aligners fit over your teeth snugly, similar to a mouth guard but far more fitted and comfortable. The aligners then gradually move your teeth into position.

You’ll need to change your aligners every two to three weeks — each time the aligners will be moving your teeth closer and closer to their perfect positioning. Your dentist will offer you several sets at a time, so you don’t need to visit us quite as often.

Invisalign Vs Traditional Braces

Invisalign is a fairly comprehensive treatment and is certainly the preferred straightening and aligning option for your teeth. It’s far more comfortable, offers you better simplicity in caring for your teeth, and Invisalign offers a significantly better appearance. However, for extreme or complex cases, traditional braces may be a better option for you. We’ll consult with you on a case by case basis to help find the very best option for you.

How we fit your Invisalign aligners to your teeth.

We use special digital impressions to create a complete replica of your teeth and gums — every shape and contour in your mouth is picked up with these impressions. It means we can create really accurate fittings for your aligners so these fit snugly and comfortably. Digital impressions involve us using lasers and optical scanning devices to create a digital image of your mouth. Doing this digitally allows better accuracy and the process is far more comfortable for you. Digital impressions are far less intrusive than the traditional kind and are much quicker and efficient.

Invisalign Gold Coast: The Options

There are three different options for your Invisalign treatment. Your dentist will consult with you on which one is best suited for your case.

Invisalign i7/Invisalign Express

Invisalign i7, or the Invisalign Express, is an advanced and fast Invisalign option. It’s a course that achieves results in seven trays. It’s a faster, cost-effective way to straighten your teeth with clear aligners. These are only suitable for minor alignments and adjustments.

Invisalign Go

Invisalign Go and Invisalign Lite are perfect for minor cases, where there isn’t a huge adjustment needed. These are a solution for minor teeth straightening and can be completed quickly, often within three to six months and come with a relatively low cost.

Full Invisalign

Full Invisalign is the traditional Invisalign offering. These suit even the most complex orthodontic cases. Our full Invisalign treatment helps with a range of teeth alignment issues such as crossbite, overbite, underbite and overcrowding.

Invisalign Gold Coast: Better Comfort, Easier Lifestyle

Invisalign is the convenient alternative to traditional braces. It makes eating, cleaning, and generally living easier, while straightening and aligning your teeth for a perfect smile.

Removable Aligners

Your aligners are removable. It means you can take them out before eating a meal or for important events like meetings or special dinners. As well as that, it means you’re not restricted while brushing your teeth.

Effective Aligning

Except for in quite extreme cases, Invisalign aligners are just as effective as traditional, metal braces. These are far more comfortable to wear than traditional braces and much, much less restrictive.

Less Restrictive

These are so much less restrictive than traditional braces. There’s no bands and they’re removable, so there’s far less stress about what kinds of foods you’re eating. You can eat whatever you like without worrying about food getting stuck in your braces.

Invisalign Gold Coast: Your FAQs

Invisalign doesn’t work the same as traditional braces. We won’t need to fit the aligners to your teeth. So, you’ll come in for an initial consultation where we’ll discuss your options, and then a subsequent consultation to take photographs and digital impressions of your teeth. This is a very, very quick process but overall, your appointment might take an hour to run through all the information we’ll provide you with as well.

This depends! In some very minor cases where not very much straightening is required, you may be looking at just three months. A really complex case might take up to 18 months. On average, you’ll have your Invisalign for 12 months.

There are a few things that make Invisalign preferable over traditional braces. Firstly, traditional braces can come with a bit of discomfort. It’s wire and metal fitted to your teeth — discomfort is to be expected. Invisalign is a more comfortable, better fitting mouth guard, essentially. So, it’s far more comfortable. You can enjoy a greater diversity of foods too, as you can just remove your aligners before eating. As well as that, these are discreet — making them particularly good for adults who may feel embarrassed about wearing braces in the office or out at social events.

As Invisalign spends more and more time on the market, more and more alternatives are popping up. We’re specialists in Invisalign, so we can’t speak first-hand for all other brands of clear aligners. We do know that at this stage, Invisalign has a greater amount of research, resources, and support for specialists providing it. We also know that currently, Invisalign is the most comfortable clear aligner on the market.

This depends on the case. A simple case may not take as long and therefore won’t need as many consultations, fittings for aligners, and thus, fewer digital impressions. Whereas a more complex case will need more sets of aligners, more consultations, and more digital impressions. An average ballpark figure for Invisalign is somewhere between $6,000 and $9,000. Invisalign is covered by most healthcare insurance providers. As well as that, we do offer interest free payment plans through Open Pay and ZipPay.

To ensure you’re keeping your Invisalign aligners looking, feeling, and smelling their best, you should clean these once a day. You can use a special denture cleaner or Invisalign cleaning crystals to soak your aligners in. Once soaked, take them out and use a spare toothbrush to clean off any plaque or food build up. Then simply rinse off the aligners before placing them back in your mouth.

You should be wearing your aligners for 20-22 hours out of the day. Your aligners are only straightening your teeth while they’re actively on them. So, for the very best results, you should be wearing them as much as possible. You can take them out to eat food, brush your teeth, or floss — but pop them straight back in after these activities.
