Digital impressions are the alternative to traditional dental impressions. It’s where we use technology such as lasers and optical scanning devices to create a digital image of your mouth. The result is a computer generated, digital replica of the hard and soft tissues in your mouth.

This is a much quicker and smoother process for both our dentists and you, the patient. It also means we can have these digital impressions sent off to create your new dental device sooner as it doesn’t require the traditional posting time.
Another benefit of digital impressions is receiving real-time, accurate feedback. It means we can act on any necessary repairs or adjustments immediately, rather than patients needing to visit a second time for an amendment.
How long do digital impressions take?
Taking a digital impression of prepared teeth takes just a minute and a half, with the impression of the teeth in the opposite arch taking just 45 seconds, approximately.
